A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
The above screenshot is from a publishing contract I have signed with Sacra Press for the publishing of a short book I have in the works right now. I will here provide some basic information on the book and its publishing:
What is the book called?
Per the screenshot, the title is (so far) On the Right to Dissent. I may or may not choose to include a subtitle with this but as of right now, that is it.
What is the book about?
Per the title, the book is about the Christian's right to 'dissent.' Specifically, it is the right to dissent from the extra-biblical values and opinions that are yet cherished in wider society. I will expound the principles by which we discern what Christians must affirm versus what they may disagree on, and finally on how such 'dissident' Christians should navigate those controversies as Christians. I saw this matter as a key area of confusion and lack of development in much of the Church, mostly on the "normie" side, but even with some errors in the Dissident Right (with which I identify). I hope for this book to be the definitive answer on the question and contribute to reconciliation, even if only a little.
Wait, what about your book on reading the Church fathers?
That is still in production. I greatly underestimated the scale of the project, and so I spoke too optimistically about its release date. My ambition is for that book to be a truly ground breaking standard on the matter, perhaps even used as a university textbook, and for that I am carefully parsing every sentence and sourcing every claim. By contrast, On the Right to Dissent is a much more focused topic, and one which I have more thoroughly been reading and reflecting on for the past few months, though I equally care for precision and proper sourcing here. As such, it will be completed relatively soon.
When will the book be released?
We have no exact date planned (as it is still being written), but at the earliest it will be coming out in January 2025. It may very possibly be coming out after then, however. Per my own policy of book publishing, the text will be only in physical format for three months (via Sacra Press), after which I will also upload the full PDF on my website (with the physical edition still able to be purchased on Sacra Press).
That is all for now; more details will come out closer to release.
